Lorna Sabbia’s op-ed explores the critical role women play in caregiving across the country. The Institute on Aging estimates that women make up 75% of all caregivers and spend up to 50% more time providing care than their male counterparts.
Sabbia says, “It’s critical for employers to provide resources that help caregivers strike a balance between their occupation and caregiving duties — and equally important for employers to promote these resources.” A supportive work environment, like the one Sabbia calls for, is especially important for women workers.
